Masterpeace Festivals

The global MasterPeace network of grassroots peace movements has a tradition lived in over 40 countries around the world: each year around the International Day of Peace (September 21st), individual MasterPeace clubs organize events aligned with the organization's mission:

Mobilize, inspire and connect talents for a sustainable future with less conflict.

For us, it was clear that this includes not only "peace work," but also celebration! And so we celebrated our first MasterPeace Festival in 2018 at kontext Wiesbaden (Center for Urban Culture) with about 40 friends and acquaintances. Besides a delicious buffet and a DJ, there were spontaneous gigs by musicians, a birthday surprise and a full dance floor.

In the coming year, everything should be expanded to include professional gigs. In 2019, we had just under 80 guests at the Wiesbaden-Biebrich Youth Center and in 2020 there were over 100 people who were enchanted by the stage program, campfire and celebrating together in and at the Eltville Castle.

It's always about being MITEINANDER (with each other) - because what does celebration mean, what does storytelling mean, what does laughter mean, what does dreaming mean, if we don't do it together?

2022: Dreamsharing

The Festival

From the 15th to the 18th of September we celebrated the yearly ‘DreamSharing Festival’ together in the ‘youthpark of cultures’ in Eltville. Over two days Masterpeace, Growunited, and the Phillip Kraft Stiftung organized this Culture- and Integration Festival to create a platform for youth, an international Masterpeace network, as well as political and local actors to come together and think about our collective future. This was done through 8 workshops spanning from topics such as antiracism, queer youth, mental health, and handicaps to doughnut economics, dialogue strategies, and inclusive and representative democracy. Each workshop, as well as the international buffet, and culturally diverse dance and music performances, created an atmosphere of joy and space for inter-cultural exchange, learning from and inspiring each other.

The Workshops

  • Culture on eyeheight (Dialouge Workshop): Stefan Rech
  • Doughnut Economics: Dona, Achim and Bettina Momm
  • Mission all of us (Anti-Racism): Vatan Akyüz
  • There are (no handicaps) only Strengths!: Stefan Orben
  • It's starting! (Democracy): Ilan Siebert
  • Queer Youth: Fynn Link
  • Brand New Bundestag (Participative Democracy): Jacob Mayer
  • Mental Health: Diana Komugisha

The Bootcamp

The day before the festival 25 Masterpeacers from 12 countries used the opportunity to come together for a mini European Bootcamp. Here we discussed ongoing and future projects, all while making valuable connections for potential collaborations. Thank you to everyone that was there, and we hope to welcome you back to Eltville in the coming years for more memorable and impactful festivals!
